Team Evinrude’s Dan Stier bags 84.67 pounds of walleye and a tour-opening win on the Cabela’s NWT in Trenton, MI last weekend

Team Evinrude’s Dan Stier navigated 37 miles of 4 to 5 foot waves to find the ideal pod on Sunday and it paid off. After securing a confident second place on the first day of fishing, Stier faced challenging waters and an elusive mega-school of the trophy-securing walleyes. His efforts earned him a prize package with an upgraded fully-rigged Ranger 620VS powered by a 250 HP Evinrude and $15,000 cash.

Evinrude had a big showing at the tour-opening event in Trenton with five team placements in the top ten. Bill Shimota brought home third place honors, Rick Olson secured sixth place honors and Pat Byle and Nick Schertz earned eighth and tenth places, respectively.

“The Evinrude team is extremely proud of Dan for his win this weekend and we wish him continued success as he moves onto the Missouri River in Mobridge, South Dakota in late June,” said Chris Berg, director of marketing and strategic planning for Evinrude. “At Evinrude, we love weekends like this when Evinrude E-TEC engines power so many great anglers as they make their mark on the tournament. From blast-off to the podium, our engines are designed to give Dan and anglers like him the power and performance he needs.”
