Iron Dog Snowmobile Race – Featuring E-TEC Technology

The Iron Dog Competition, which is the toughest snowmobile race in the world, is currently underway in Alaska.  11 teams in the competition will be running Ski-Doo snowmobiles, which feature the same E-TEC technology as Evinrude outboard engines.

From the Iron Dog website:

The Iron Dog course is now over 2,000 miles, starting in Big Lake to Nome and finishing in Fairbanks, making it the World’s longest snowmobile race. Participants must traverse in some of Alaska’s the most remote and rugged terrain while confronting some the harshest winter conditions. Survival skills are essential, making it the World’s toughest snowmobile race. All teams in race classes are a team of two persons and two snowmobiles for safety.

We’re rooting for all the Ski-Doo teams, but we’ll especially be following the team of Todd Palin and Scott Davis (pictured above).
