T.E.C. Ambassador: Wisconsin Native, Danny Woodke Chronicles Club Evinrude
I became a member on E-Nation and was given the chance to apply for a Dream Job as an Ambassador for Evinrude. Not thinking I stood a chance against the hundreds of other qualified applicants, I received a phone call from BRP’s Evinrude Marketing Team. They informed me that I was picked to be an Ambassador for Evinrude. I really could not believe it, all my hard work had paid off and I was going to be a part of Evinrude Outboards.
I was invited to the BRP Evinrude Global Product Reveal in Milwaukee WI. Not knowing anything about what the reveal was, I was grateful to just be a part of it. Little did I know it was going to be the next generation of outboard engines.
I arrived and was treated like a part of the team. I was able to meet the rest of the ambassadors along with many other owners and dealers from all around the world. Never have I been in a place where everyone was so excited and proud. From dinner it was off to the Global Reveal. We all left together and walked to the next floor, I could hear people hooting and hollering clapping their hands. As I walked up the stairs, hundreds of people were giving high fives and waving.
At this point I knew I was going to be a part of something huge. I sat through a great introduction of Evinrude Outboards, learning their past to where they are today. It was then that they introduced the Evinrude E-Tec G2. I had goose bumps as they raised the G2 from the stage. I was part of the biggest change in outboard history in years. It was a wow factor, seeing all the new changes and knowing it was built off an already great outboard, the Evinrude T-Eec HO.
As we walked through the showroom, there were different boat brands powered by the new Evinrude E-TEC G2. It was nice to see the G2 at eye level, looking at the new design, mid and lower sections and all the custom colors.
The next two days were filled with learning about the technology in the G2, touring Evinrude’s plant, G2 test rides and most of all what my Ambassador position entailed. I couldn’t wait to get back home to tell fellow fishermen and boaters about the outboard that’s going to change the industry.
I could not believe I was a part of something so large, which is going to impact the outboard industry like no other. The event was nothing short of excellent. I was welcomed into a great company but more treated like family. This is truly going to be a Dream Job!
